NCHBA SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE!

2009 NCHBA Scholarship applications are now available for students entering college in the Fall. Application packets are available at the North Central Home Builders Association office and at high schools throughout Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan Counties. All applications and supporting materials must be postmarked by June 30, 2009. The selection committee will make its decision during early July, and the scholarship recipients will be contacted by mail before July 31. All applicants will be mailed notice of their final status. Last year's recipients were Andrew Dennis Parks and Jovanni Luna!

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Students must be a Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan County resident, at least a graduating senior, applying to an accredited vocational, two-year community or four-year college or university; or an enrolled student; and be pursuing a degree by taking multiple courses in a field of study that enhances their education and benefits the building trades. Such fields may include association management, government affairs, architecture, engineering, business or other housing-related studies.

Verification of enrollment in school will be necessary before scholarship funds are released.

This scholarship focuses on school and community participation and is not directed solely toward academic performance.

The Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) also offers scholarships to any Washington resident to help fund any post-secondary education, i.e., college or vocation, public or private. The application deadline for the BIAW scholarship is May 19, 2009.
